What tools are you using for mind mapping?

We’ve been exploring mind mapping quite a bit over the past 3 weeks. I hope it’s been helpful!!

But for now i’d like to ask you a quick question… Wink, which is the following:

What are some of your favourite mind mapping tools out there? It would be great if you could leave us a quick comment below.

I’ll tell you mine, if you tell me yours!

  1. I’ve been using the MindGenius for the past few years. It really helps me to extract ideas from my head. Mainly use it for the planning stages of a project.

    • Hi Brian, many thanks for your comment. I was wondering what made you decide in favour of MindGenius compared to some of the freeware options available on the internet?

  3. I have been using DropMind for a while and I am very impressed by its functionality. I especially like the iPad, Web and Desktop integration which gives me opportunity to shift between devices and access my maps from anywhere anytime.

    • Hi Marija, thanks for your comment. I wasn’t aware of Dropmind but I’ll look into it soon. How do you feel a paid service outweighs some of the freeware alternatives available out there?

  4. I’ve been using Freemind ON & OFF for a long time now. The usage of the iPad has created some disruption .. since I’m yet to figure a way to seamlessly work across devices with Freemind.

    • Hi Shubhadeep, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yeah, i guess this is one area where a paid license could make a difference… i.e. better cross platform integration. Still I would be interested in finding a freeware option that is quite portable, too.
      Kind regards, Luc

    • Hi Daniel, That is an interesting choice. I like the fact that it seems to support collaborative mindmapping! Thanks for your comment.

  6. I still owe you this: I’ve been using Free Mind for some time. Not entirely happy, so would consider an alternative. The options suggested as comments are worth looking into.

  8. I’m currently experimenting with MindNode. It’s nice and user-friendly, although the free version does not allow you to include images.
